After multiple iterative changes from the onsite team, finally, the document was closed at my end and I have shared the same for further enhancements. However, all my hopes of the opportunity getting closed were shattered in the very next day from a long mail from the onsite team and a new team member being looped to the thread. When I reviewed the new task shared by the onsite team, I felt that all the effort that I put into the last one week went in vain and all-new solution slides had to be worked from scratch. I was completely furious and wanted to discuss this issue with my manager and as usual, he was acting as if all the slides will be reused for the new client requirements. Unfortunately, only I knew that all the slides will be irrelevant for the new client requirements and now fresh efforts had to be made to gather information from other teams. When the recurring daily call was set up to discuss the progress about the new requirements shared by the client, I was raising concerns about redundant work, and my manager jumped in out of nowhere and closed the discussion abruptly. Good time with family due to Corona Virus
So, I took a long vacation to be with my family and unfortunately COVID-19 pandemic has taken over the entire country, so our entire team was requested to connect from home until further notice. Since I was on vacation, I had no further communication from my office and with much anxiety contacted my teammate to check about the things going on. To my surprise, he was affirmative that the team was busy with work from Client Partners and nothing had to be worried about job security or salary reduction. The conversation with my colleague was consoling and assured me of my job security. In the meantime, I had the most relaxing time with my family and after a long time, I felt there are many things to note other than being held up in virtual reality. The reason for not updating any posts for over a long time was only because I was spending some quality time with my family and this really helped in getting rejuvenated. At one point in time, I really felt that these times should be carried on forever and spending really good time with my family. However, this did not last forever, and I had to connect from home shortly after vacation, to know how I was screwed up, please feel free to check out the posts in “G R Team Sites”

Backup plan for the service request during my vacation
After multiple reminder emails to the on-site team requesting updates on the service request assigned to me, there was no response or acknowledgment from them. Finally, the on-site team responded a day before my vacation and was requesting some supporting documents from my repository. I was furious about their attitude and never wanted to respond to their support request. However, I was about to leave for the day and suddenly my manager had requested me to send those documents to the team before my vacation. I had no other option but to share those details with them and I have mentioned that I am going on a long vacation and not available for the next few days. If any support required for the service request, please feel free to reach out to my manager or the delivery lead who was assisting me with this request. Within a few minutes, the delivery lead called me and was shocked to see that I have mentioned delivery lead as a secondary contact. I had no other option but to reveal the truth to the delivery lead, that my manager was requesting me to add delivery lead as the secondary contact for the service request during my absence. To know more about how the service request affected my vacation, please feel free to check out “G R Team Sites”

Taking document to final stage for submission
The leadership was giving multiple changes, a day before document submission and the call was already getting extending late night. I had no other option but to say no to the delivery person for making changes at late night and conveyed that we will discuss updates first thing in the morning. I was completely furious about last-minute reviews and changes to the document. The next day morning, even before I got up from my bed, I got a call from that delivery person to make changes suggested by the leadership, I simply replied to him that allow me some time and let login to my system. Delivery person dropped off from the call and I called him back after taking my own sweet time in the morning and conveyed to him that, we will make changes only that we were able to make and for the rest, let them decide whether to make those updates or send document as it is or completely withdraw from service request. However, we tried to address as many suggestions as possible and at one point it seemed we have addressed all suggestions/reviews shared by the leadership team. After making those updates, the document was finally handed over to the on-site team for further updates and submission. To know about my next service request assigned, please feel free to check out the “G R Team Sites”
