I like Mamma Mia

My all time favorite action films are Speed and Die Hard 3. My favorite comedy is Mamma Mia which I saw recently. It's the most entertaining film of recent times. I liked Vantage Point too. But The Sound of Music is one film I would've watched a 130 times or more I'm sure. Even when I was 14, I would've seen it over 50 times. First, because of the songs. You feel at home every time you watch. Julie Andrews hasn't been as good in any other film after Sound of Music. Among Indian films, Lagaan is a film I would like to watch again and again.

About Wildlife

I regret to say that cruelty towards animals has reached the maximum level. This is clear from the fact how a weak, emaciated and skinny bull pulls the cart loaded with tonnes of weight. The cart owner mercilessly beats and prods his stick into its frail and thin body.Similarly, there are numerous deserted animals like cows dogs and donkeys roaming on the roads. Many of them have open wounds. Some are so diseased that looking at them fills us with the feeling of disgust.I fail to understand how we have become so insensitive to these animals. This indeed a sorry tale of the indifference of the owners towards these domestic animals.I feel shocked to see how badly these animals are treated.Animal life forms an indistinguishable part of human life.Animals render inexplicable services but we are so callous towards them that we don't bother for their welfare. There are hospitals for them.Yet the owners don't bother to take care of them in time illness.I urge the authorities would take strict action against the owners who ill treat the animals.

About Himalayas

The Himalaya is a mountain range in Asia, separating the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau. By extension, it is also the name of the massive mountain system which includes the Himalaya proper, the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, and a host of minor ranges extending from the Pamir Knot. Together, the Himalayan mountain system is the planet's highest and home to all 14 of the world's highest peaks, the Eight-thousanders, including Mount Everest. To comprehend the enormous scale of Himalayan peaks, consider that Aconcagua at 22,841 feet (6962 m) is the highest mountain in the Andes, while there are over thirty peaks in the Himalaya exceeding 25,000 feet (7620 m). Etymologically Himalaya means "abode of snow" in Sanskrit ( from hima "snow", and aalaya "abode"). The correct name for the range is Himalaya, though the plural Himalayas is often used.

The Himalaya stretch across five nations — Pakistan, India, China, Bhutan and Nepal. It is the source of two of the world's major river systems — the Indus Basin and the Ganga-Brahmaputra Basin. An estimated 750 million people live in the watershed area of the Himalayan rivers, which also includes Bangladesh. The Himalayan (pronounced as Himaalayas and not with a short "a" as is commonly mispronounced)range runs for about 2400 km, from Nanga Parbat in the west to Namche Barwa in the east. The width varies between 250-300 km. The Himalayan range comprises three parallel ranges, arranged by elevation and geological age.
